THE FOOTHILL PINES PUPPY PROCESS

You can reserve a Foothill Pines Puppy! Applications are closed for our May 2024 litter. You may fill out an application for a future litter and be put on a waitlist. 

• All applications received will be reviewed. Approved applications will go on a general waiting list. You will be notified if you are approved within a week of submitting your application. 
• As soon as we have a confirmed pregnancy, we will begin pre-populating the Litter Wait List based on the order we received the applications.
• If you are notified that you are on the Litter Wait List you will have 5 days to make your $500 deposit (see Puppy Pricing section that discusses deposits as well as the total cost of our puppies). 

It is important to note that we are not guaranteeing a specific gender, color or puppy when the deposit is made. It is just to maintain your spot on the Litter Wait List. 

We reserve the right to pick of litter at any time and of every litter to allow for us hold back any future breeding quality prospects.

To start the process, please click here: Application or go to our Application section. We strive to get through the applications as quickly as possible. If you don't hear from us within a week, please reach out directly. 

Within five days after the birth of the litter, we will go down our Litter Wait List based on date the Litter Wait List Deposit was received and reach out to inform you if a puppy of your preferred gender (based on what you state on your Puppy Application) is or isn’t available for you. If we do not have your preferred gender available you will have the option to receive a refund, to pick an opposite sex puppy (if available) or transfer the deposit to another litter.

• Once our puppies are here, we will be utilizing the Puppy Culture program. This program provides socialization and training specifically developed for puppies, from birth through the end of their critical socialization period. It includes age-appropriate protocols and lessons laid out in an organized format. 
• We introduce Early Neurological Stimulation ("ENS") to ensure that they are off to the best start possible. According to the AKC about ENS: Five benefits have been observed in canines that were exposed to ENS, including improved cardiovascular performance (heart rate); stronger heart beats; stronger adrenal glands; more tolerance to stress; and greater resistance to disease. Additionally, in tests of learning, ENS stimulated pups were more active and exploratory than their non-stimulated littermates, according to Breeding Better Dogs.
• We plan to socialize our puppies to make sure they are used to people, loud noises, other animals, etc. 

We will create a private Facebook group for each litter that the potential owners can join. There you can see pictures and videos of all the puppies! At this time make sure to take notes or keep a list of the puppies that you think will fit well with your family. 

At 7 weeks of age, we temperament test our puppies (with an accredited program) to determine which puppy is best fit for your home and lifestyle. It is after this temperament testing that we allow for visits to select your puppy.

We will allow the families to come pick their puppy in the order of deposit date received from the Litter Wait List. At this visit we will compare which puppies we think are well suited for your family based on the temperament testing to your top puppy choices based on the Facebook group or your interactions with the puppies during the visit. 

We allow visits with your puppy after 7 weeks of age. We don't allow it before this as it is important that the puppy has at least 1 vaccination to help build their immunity. We ask that you set up an appointment in advance  (after the initial puppy picking day) if you would like to visit your puppy before they go home.  

• Our puppies are dewormed.
• Our puppies have all veterinarian recommended vaccines for up to 8 weeks. 
• Our puppies will receive a complete wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian before they go home.

Our puppies will have a 12 month health guarantee as detailed in the signed puppy contract. 

The puppies will go to their new homes at 8-9 weeks of age.​ We provide their Vaccination record and a copy of their Veterinarian exam. 

They will also have a new puppy care package to take with them to their new home! This will include sample puppy food, a blanket with their litter scent, a toy and AKC registration papers.
